Many prospects broke into the spotlight last year, and one who made a lasting impression was Ben Davis’ WR, Brady Simmons. As Brady entered his final year with the Giants, it looked as if his options would be limited. Yet after a strong postseason push, a PWO offer from Indiana University was enough for Simmons to jump to a commitment and the opportunity to fight for a spot in Bloomington.
As a senior, Brady stacked up three 100+ yard games (two of them coming in the final two games of the season) and showed impressive flashes of great play. Simmons played a huge role in the Giants’ postseason semi-state run. In a 32-14 regional victory over Brownsburg, Brady Simmons brought in 5 catches for 192 yards and a touchdown. With a strong push at the end of his senior season, it seems as if he has the talent to shine at IU.
Simmons received offers from Hanover, University of Saint Francis, Gardner-Webb University, Lawrence Tech, Marian University, and Miami (OH). One last offer came in when on February 8th, Brady announced on Twitter that he received a PWO offer from IU. Just over a week later, Simmons made his decision to commit to Indiana and continue his bright future as a Hoosier!
It is clear Brady Simmons has an opportunity to be a star, but when asking him why he decided to commit to IU he told us “I am familiar with the program and IU, and I liked the idea of staying home and playing for Coach Allen and a great coaching staff!”
